Stress Management: Dealing With Crisis

Bad events have invariably been a ingredient in stress management and being fit to deal with the tension that comes with change. Life changes, in any form, can be dealth with in one of two fashions - either it is welcomed or it is unwelcome. Individuals are ever scared of change that goes on in their lives and perhaps that is why some individuals become stressed by it. Perhaps it is the unexpected that can stress people out whenever change goes on in their life-time and why there are so many unusual ways that Individuals react to change when it happens. Tension headaches are associated with stress (often the pain comes after the stress has ended), fatigue or too much/too little sleep. Assuming a posture that tenses your neck and head muscles for long periods of time, such as holding your chin down while reading, can trigger these headaches

The most common response to change is shock and surprise, so when confronted by unpredicted circumstances such as unwanted incidents or other chance events, surprise appears to be the first reaction for many. Such states of affairs make people recognize that particular plans they have made in life can oftentimes have some unpredicted results. The realization that nothing is enduring can be a beginning of stress for some Individuals as change may come as a complete shock. Many individuals respond to change with denial and decline to acknowledge it.

Then again, some people will try to bring out certain values ready to reinforce that change is not required but this may be a secondary reaction after the surprise and shock stage. From time to time, people move from surprise, and sometimes self-denial, to a psychological apprehension of change and might see that change is actually needed in particular situations as there are reasons why it goes on. Through this, Individuals begin to see how to find ways on how to deal with the problem. However, at this point Individuals may still not be prepared to have change affect their behavior but rather find some ways to rectify the state of affairs instead. Change can in some cases lead people to react in two assorted ways. At a certain point, the state of affairs may get to a level where it becomes a crisis and when this point is reached, Individuals may either swallow it or avoid it altogether.

When Individuals discover to admit change, no matter how harsh, they are no longer affected by the stress that comes with it as much as those that might want to avoid or discount it. Heading off marked changes, peculiarly the embarrassing ones, can sometimes lead to extra tension in many Individuals. Trying to fight one’s personal way in dealing with change rather than accepting it can sometimes be a lost cause and struggles, both internal and external, may arise inducing significant tension to many Individuals. It is only after discovering how to admit change that the tension caused by the burden of denial and refusal to admit it, it will be released. Stress management works by being capable to understand and learn about how People deal with changes. Knowing the assorted reactions and the phases that people go through with change can help people get a better grasp of managing with the results of change with less tension.

My life is pretty stressful and I get tension headaches often. I’m just so busy with work and my kids that when something unplanned comes along, my stress level rises.  Even when our house was broken into I initially freaked out about it. I had to get a replacement birth certificate, a new TV and repair the damage done to our door. With all that stress I thought my head was going to explode but I just took a deep breath and worked through it.
